Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Ed.D., Ph.D., LCMHCS

Along with being a licensed clinical mental health counselor, I also am a licensed clinical mental health supervisor, who has practiced clinical supervision under that license for the past 14 years. I work with associate licensed clinical counselors who have completed their master’s degree in counseling in the state of North Carolina. This is to facilitate their completing their full licensure in order to practice counseling independently. I have also supervised licensed school counselors to attain their independent practice license (LCMHC) to practice in the community outside of the school. I myself hold that License to practice as an independent counselor (LCMHC #2165) and the license to practice as a clinical mental health supervisor (LCMHCS #S2165) in the state of North Carolina.
On top of my two doctorate degrees, EdD in Curriculum and Teaching, emphasizing cultural anthropology and philosophies of teaching and learning, and my PhD in Eastern Orthodox Studies, emphasizing Eastern Orthodox theology, my other related experience includes my serving in the Protestant ministry for 36 years as well as being an Eastern Orthodox priest for 12 years, now retired yet maintaining my priesthood. I was also
Licensed to teach in North Carolina, Music and Social Studies, Grades 9-12 and have taught middle school and high school students as well as students on the community college level. I consider all my counseling and teaching, as well as service in the church as ministry, and my desire is to listen to and empathically direct my clients toward healing, wisdom, meaning, and purpose in their life.
The Three books that I encourage my clients to read while seeing me are as follows:
- Eckhart Tolle: The Power of Now
- Eckhart Tolle: Stillness Speaks
- RMFrench, Translator: The Way of A Pilgrim and The Pilgrim Continues His Way
